At Eden\u2019s Rose, we are committed to supporting our community! We provide jobs, support new hobbies, build community, and lessen food insecurity in Albany through our microprojects. Each micro project is an opportunity to get involved, meet new people, and learn something new about sustainability. We are dedicated to breaking the chains of generational poverty and environmental destruction. Learn more about our projects and how to get involved below!

The Pandemic Produce Pickup started at the beginning of the pandemic with volunteers from the community. Soon Eden\u2019s Rose found funding to turn those volunteer positions into jobs. They have been supporting the community with food and pandemic kits for many months
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Youth Blueberry Orchard was started in the summer of 2018 as a way to teach youth entrepreneurial skills and teach more about the environment. It was created through the work of the Summer Youth Employment workers and had the first harvest in the summer of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Urban Farmer Training Program is an education program in which Local residents get trained in Urban Agriculture and at the end of training get a USDA certification of being a farmer. They are given a training plot at 456 1st Street. After they graduate from the program they are gifted a plot of land that they can then do anything with it. Urban farmers within the program are part of the Urban Farmers Committee, who decide what plots of land to purchase based on community need 
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the site of the Urban Farmers Training plot, there is a compost pile in which compostable waste from the local community and the compost that is created is used on sites such as the Youth Blueberry Orchard and the Training plots of the Urban Farmer Training Program. Eden\u2019s Rose was able to generate 900 cubic meters of compost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
