ALBANY, NY Eden Joseph Roe, age 24, of Albany, died suddenly Friday, June 17, 2005 at home. He was born November 5, 1980 in Albany, the son of James and Joleen (Mahoney) Roe of Hannacroix. Eden was a graduate of Albany Academy, Class of 1998. Eden was captain of both the lacrosse and football teams for Albany Academy and was awarded the creative writing award at graduation from Albany Academy. He graduated from SUNY at Albany with a B.A. in philosophy in 2004.
Eden was presently employed as a marketing representative for John Hancock Insurance with Albany General Agency in Albany. Eden was a philosopher, writer, musician, son, brother and friend. He was a devoted Phish fan who traveled extensively to hear his favorite jam band.
In addition to his parents, Eden is also survived by a brother, Seth V. Roe and fiancee Kelli Powell, both of Bluffton, S.C.; a nephew, Hollande; a niece, Zholi; two grandmothers, Margaret Roe of Catskill and Florence Mahoney of Ithaca; uncles and aunts, Gene and Andi Roe of Hampton Beach, N.H., Barbara Jean and Denis Spencer of Roanoke, Va.; cousins, Robin, Joni, Joshua and Jared Roe of Catskill, Sarah, Casey and Nathan Roe of Hampton Falls, N.H., Jeff and Brian Catlin of Roanoke, Va. and Julie Humble of Ithaca, N.Y.; and many, many beloved friends.
